What are signs that I may have an infestation?

Along with visually identifying bed bugs, small dark red/brown spots may appear on bed linens, furniture and light clothing. Castings (shed exoskeletons) may be found in areas where populations have grown. Eggs may be found in clusters in small cracks, crevices and seams.

Where are they hiding?

Bed bugs live in cracks, crevices, seams, electrical outlets, wall voids, baseboards, picture frames, inside mattresses and box springs and other upholstered furniture. Any small gap could be a good hiding place for bed bugs

What does a bed bug bite look like?

Reactions from bites are different for everyone. Some people will have nearly no reaction whatsoever while others may have itchy red bumps around the bite area.

Do bed bugs carry disease?

Currently, the CDC and USDA say there is no evidence if diseases being carried or spread by bed bugs.

How do they spread and how can I keep them out?

Bed bugs attach themselves to clothing, bags, purses etc. They can also be brought into the home in used furniture, clothing, etc. Carefully inspect any used furniture before moving it into your home. Reducing clutter around your home can help limit hiding places and make it easier to notice if an infestation occurs.

Do I have to get rid of all of my furniture and remove all of my clothing from closets in preparation for a thermal treatment?

No. All of these items should remain in the home for treatment. Eliminating clutter in closets etc. can make a big difference in the success of the treatment however.

I have a lot of stuff! What preparations do I need to make before the treatment?

Our technicians will go over any steps you need to take prior to treatment when the inspection is made and treatment scheduled. Each situation is different and an experienced professional will know what needs to happen in order to be successful.
